Designer Focus: Bridget Awosika

In the next few weeks’ segment of “Designer Focus”, I bring you remnants of the 5th Annual Lagos Fashion & Design Week.
The event is centred around promoting the fashion market in Nigeria and putting Africa on the map in the fashion industry. This annual event previews the seasons current fashion to the media, buyers and consumers. The Lagos Fashion and Design Week is a leading fashion event in the African community, bringing the nations talented to the forefront. This includes Nigerian designer, Bridget Awosika.

Bridget Awosika is an emerging designer who is gaining the attention of many through her say fashion forward designs, a rarity in the African fashion market. Although Awosika may be an upcoming designer, she is no stranger to the fashion industry.  Her track records includes working as an intern with Donna Karan and Giorgio Armani. Her designs embody an effortless appeal, gearing towards the world-class African woman. Awosika aims to empower women through her designs by seeking inspiration from none other than Wonder-woman.

This upcoming spring-summer 2016 season, Bridget Awosika presents innovative designs in volumes of texturized fabrics. From fringe, chiffon to print, there is definitely a look tailored for every women in her recent collection.
