Designer Focus: Sally LaPointe

November is here and I’m kicking off this new month with a new segment!
All month I will be featuring upcoming designers on their rise to being household names in the industry. With the holiday season just around the corner, what better way to be a showstopper in this seasons upcoming festivities by wearing new and unique garments?!

This week, I bring your attention to Sally La Pointe.

The New York native redefines Ready to Wear. Her designs are rather of a contemporary appeal but she creatively merges the worlds of couture into contemporary as one. LaPointe defines her collections as “minimal luxe with edge” Her idea of modern and minimal silhouettes truly compliments every woman. Her talents are beginning to catch the eye of the industry’s big-players, which led to her recent recognition as a member of the CFDA. LaPointe defined this moment as “something I’ve always wanted…it’s this recognition of success.” Needless to say, this is only the beginning for LaPointe.

This autumn, LaPointe personifies the modern woman by combining various fabrics and elusive trims into a day’s look. Although that is a bold approach to the contemporary feel, her designs all stemmed from the movement of clothing, a theme very popular in the contemporary world. Besides, contemporary isn’t about being one dimensional. Fashion is open for interpretation; what fun would a standout be, without defining her own rules?

Her pieces can be found online at,, Moda, both online and in stores at Bergdorf Goodman.

Here’s a preview of the outstanding work of Sally LaPointe, from her Autumn-Winter 2015 collection.
