Aside from the holiday cheer, the pressure of executing the quintessential show-stopping ensemble is a key this holiday season. Besides, after not seeing loved ones for months on end, it never hurts to show them what they have been missing.
The British Fashion Awards (BFAs) is the perfect example on taking notes for your next formal occasion. Britain’s stance in the fashion industry is sounding off on the creative aspect of global fashion. Thus, it comes as no surprise, that Britain hosts the annual “who’s who in fashion” event.
The star-studded event held at the London Coliseum Nov. 23rd was Britain’s biggest night in fashion and it certainly did not disappoint from start to finish. If the red carpet was any indication of the night, it was certainly going to be an unforgettable one. Guests included Vogue’s Matriarch Anna Wintour and “Soul of Fashion” Karl Lagerfeld, supermodels Naomi Campbell, Jourdan Dunn and Georgia May Jagger, singer Lady Gaga, and designers Victoria Beckham and Olivier Rousteing.
The red carpet also featured a slew of show-stopping designs from bold red, delicate pieces to provocative disclosure in deep plunging necklines and seductive mini’s. Popular choices of the night included Thierry Mugler, Erdem and Burberry.
A favourite of the night was Britain’s hottest “it” couple, David and Victoria Beckhham, who stepped out in matching pantsuits, Mrs Beckham demonstrating her versatility in the fashion forefront. What better way to display your motion for female empowerment and gender equality than stepping out in an identical number by your leading man.
The biggest names in fashion definitely reaffirmed their status in the fashion game. This annual event celebrates the contributions of British fashion figures in the international market since 1989. Winners included the Karl Lagerfeld as the recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award, Jourdan Dunn as Model of the Year, Tom Ford for the Red Carpet Award and J.W. Anderson winning both Menswear and Womenswear Designer of the Year.
So ladies, before those holiday invites start piling up, get inspired and make a statement!
Until Next Time,
